10/07/2017 - International Summer Academy for leaders of the Euro-Mediterranean region

 

3-9 July 2017, Bulgaria

Participants from Morocco, Tunisia, Jordan, Egypt, Lebanon and Bulgaria will gather in Pravets, Bulgaria for a series of lectures, debates and a programme of visits for the 2017 edition of the International Summer Academy on the topic of "Violent Radicalization and Extremism in the Euro-Med Region and the Role of Civil Society in Developing Successful Countering Strategies".

The Academy is organised by the Bulgarian School of Politics and is open to participants from the Bulgarian, Moroccan and Tunisian Schools. This year, 21 young members of parliament, members of various political parties and civic organisations from across the Euromed region took part in the event.

The Academy also included meetings with several high-profile figures, such as the Bulgarian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Deputy Chairperson of the National Assembly of Bulgaria, Mayor of Sofia, Head of the European Commission Representation in Bulgaria, Senior Adviser to the Moroccan King Mohammed VI and the Ambassador of Morocco to Bulgaria.
