The ASPS is pleased to announce that the 2nd edition of the Civic Roundtable will be taking place in Strasbourg in July 2017, on the theme of refugees and their integration into European societies.

The 2017 session continues to offer young leaders a platform to study trends and challenges and to start building a peer resource network through a multitude of interactions. Participants will be addressing the topics of the seminar in a variety of working methods, both in plenary and in smaller working groups.

Around 30 selected fellows, including alumni from the Schools and young leaders from NGOs and civil society, think tanks, research institutes or government bodies will share their perspectives on the question of integration of migrants into host societies. Topics are likely to include the legal systems of host countries with regard to immigration and asylum, the structure of civil society, and ways to engage in dialogue at local and national levels of governance.

The task of nominating candidates from among their alumni falls to the Schools themselves, and this process is already underway. Candidates will then be selected by a steering committee, who will ensure a balanced cohort in terms of gender, geographical representation and political affiliation.
