The seminar “Sapere aude: origins of legal consciousness” organised by the Association of Schools of Political Studies Studies and the Stockholm School of Transition Economics was held in Stockholm, Sweden, on 2-5 May 2016. The seminar was attended by 76 young decision-makers and opinion-formers from Armenia, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Czech Republic, France, Hungary, Latvia, Macedonia, Montenegro, Moldova, Poland, Russia and Ukraine.

The seminar was opened by Director of Political Planning of the Council of Europe Matjaž Gruden. After his welcoming presentation 15 prominent experts from Russia, Sweden, Norway and the United Kingdom delivered lectures and participated in round table discussions and debates on the most topical issues of today’s Russia and Europe.

Among topics discussed were “Global world, global civilisation”, “Rule of law as a foundation for a modern state”, “Crisis of identity and migration”, “Society and the State”, “Civic education and civil society” and many others.
