Public debate, 6 November 2025 - Who’s afraid of human rights?

WHO’S AFRAID OF HUMAN RIGHTS? Utopia or dystopia in 2025?

→ Public debate, Thursday 6 November, 19:30, 4 Rue Brûlée, Strasbourg.

How relevant are human rights when wars are raging across the world and people are facing humanitarian disasters ? This public debateorganised by the Association of Schools of Political Studies of the Council of Europe (ASPS) invite us to take stock of our rights and values in 2025.

Is the European Union's response to Russian aggression in Ukraine sufficient?

More broadly, what is the role of international organisations in this context?

How can we guarantee respect for human rights in the face of increasingly restrictive migration policies?

To what extent does the rise of the far right impact our individual freedoms?

In the face of climate change, how can we ensure respect for the right to a healthy environment, even as the United States has once again withdrawn from the Paris Agreement?

These are some of the questions that will be addressed by an international panel of representatives from civil society, politics, academia and the media.
